Whiskey! Neat! — This month, Ann Arbor's Blue Tractor Brewery has put together a bevy of Bourbon-inspired specials, including bourbon-cured salmon, smoked pork chop, with a Jack-and-Coke barbecue sauce, a hanger steak sandwich with bourbon-and-brown-sugar-cured bacon and bourbon-molasses sauce, and drinks made with Old Crow, Elijah Craig, Jim Beam, Maker's Mark and more. Keeping lent — Lenten fasters take note: The St. Peter Claver Catholic Community in Detroit is running a weekly fish fry for the rest of the season's Fridays, March 5, 12, 19 and 26. They'll have catfish and whiting, with sides of pasta, coleslaw and beans, dine-in or take-out. Even delivery is available. FOOD/THOUGHT

Barbara Sibley and Margaritte Malfy introduce the uninitiated to the requisite snacks that go well with tequila.
