2012 Blowout Performance Application
The Metro Times Blowout is the largest local music festival in the nation, with more than 5,000 annual attendees over three days in Hamtramck, Michigan. Each year, Blowout celebrates hundreds of local musicians in dozens of different Hamtramck venues. Blowout continues to be the best and longest-running local music event by highlighting the best talent and helping artists into the spotlight. 2012 marks a special milestone- the 15th year of Blowout- and will showcase some of the most talented up-and-coming local artists.
The Blowout application process is fully digital. Please do not mail anything to Metro Times, including CDs, press kits, etc. If selected, you will be given directions on how to upload MP3s and JPEGs. All bands, even those who have previously performed at Blowout, must fill out an application.
To be considered for a performance slot at Blowout, your act must possess a nativity to Michigan, either current or long-term. There is no fee for submitting a Blowout application. All applications must be received no later than 11:59 p.m. on January 15th.
All applications will be confirmed via e-mail within 30 days of submission. We receive more than 500 applications and review each one individually. Please be patient and do not e-mail us to inquire if we have received your application.
Only selected acts will be notified of their status by Jan. 29. Please keep in mind that there are only so many slots available and unfortunately the majority of applicants will be turned down.
Opening performers will receive weekend passes for each member of the act plus two extra passes for family, friends or fans. Example: if your act has four members, you will receive 6 passes total. No exceptions. Most headliners and direct support receive monetary compensation to be determined at the time of booking.
For additional information, including a history of the event, see metrotimes.com/blowout.
Thank you for submitting your application to this year's Blowout and we look forward to reviewing you.
