Edith Worthy
Boniface Human Services, defender of little people

Metro Times: What is one thing that you want to get done before the millennium kicks in?

Edith Worthy: Finish writing my two books: Much Love, a book about street gangs, and All Men Are Not Dogs, a book about relationships.

MT: In the event that the Y2K problem is as bad as the dooomsayers say, are you doing anything to prepare for it?

Worthy: I have confidence that the problem will be fixed. Businesses have too much money on the line not to fix it. But if things do crash, I'll finally have my excuse to move to Jamaica.

MT: Who would you like to spend New Year's with?

Worthy: Malik Yoba.

MT: Who will you be spending it with?

Worthy: A very good friend.

MT: What's your favorite Prince song?

Worthy: "Little Red Corvette," because of personal memories.

"Qadhafi"
Not-so-incognito reggae junkie

Metro Times: What is one thing that you want to get done before the millennium kicks in?

Qadhafi: Nothing special. I just take things one day at a time. By taking care of my day-to-day business, things work out in the long run. People have too many negative thoughts, resulting in negative results. The year 2000 is only negative if you make it that way.

MT: In the event that the Y2K problem is as bad as the dooomsayers say, are you doing anything to prepare for it?

Qadhafi: It's like above. If people put out negative energy, negative things will happen. I have complete confidence that the problem will be taken care of. But just in case, I'm going to conduct all of my transactions in cash and make sure my money is within easy reach.

MT: Who would you like to spend New Year's with?

Qadhafi: Um, the lady with the "J."

MT: Who will you be spending it with?

Qadhafi: Well, that's who I should be spending it with.

MT: What's your favorite Prince song?

Qadhafi: "Automatic," because I had a beautiful love life at the time.

Jan Sandora
Avid dart player,
impeccable Ford worker

Metro Times: What is one thing that you want to get done before the millennium kicks in?

Sandora: Retire!

MT: In the event that the Y2K problem is as bad as the dooomsayers say, are you doing anything to prepare for it?

Sandora: Run up all my credit cards.

MT: Who would you like to spend New Year's with?

Sandora: Ron (a friend).

MT: Who will you be spending it with?

Sandora: My daughter, since he'll be with his mother!

MT: What's your favorite Prince song?

Sandora: Who?

Marissa
Waitress at Lipsticks night club

Metro Times: What is one thing that you want to get done before the millennium kicks in?

Marissa: Have a washboard stomach.

MT: In the event that the Y2K problem is as bad as the dooomsayers say, are you doing anything to prepare for it?

Marissa: I think bombs are bad. Oh, that Y2K thing. Take all my money out of the bank!

MT: Who would you like to spend New Year's with?

Marissa: Said Hadad, a long lost friend.

MT: Who will you be spending it with?

Marissa: Some of my girlfriends from Western.

MT: What's your favorite Prince song?

Marissa: Definitely "When Doves Cry."

Ray Ray
B-ball phenom from the streets

Ray Ray: Finish my degree in political science and get paid!

MT: In the event that the Y2K problem is as bad as the dooomsayers say, are you doing anything to prepare for it?

Ray Ray: Uh...

MT: Who would you like to spend New Year's with?

Ray Ray: Jennifer Lopez.

MT: Who will you be spending it with?

Ray Ray: DJ P-Nice, M&M and Big B.

MT: What's your favorite Prince song?
