Metro Times – Detroit’s Alternative Newsweekly – Is looking for an Advertising Director. This position will supervise a sales staff of nine, two department heads, and will be responsible for the day to day operations of the retail, classified, mobile, and web sales. The AD will also be required to provide weekly-monthly-annual revenue forecasts, training, hiring, and offer motivating ideas for the sales department. This position will also be closely involved with our digital strategy, deal of the day platform, event sales/marketing, and other emerging revenue streams. Metro Times is an award winning publication with a well established readership both in print and on metrotimes.com. Qualified candidates should have a minimum of 2-years sales management experience – know the value of hiring and training the right people, be innovative in creating new revenue streams as well as understand the fundamental basics of what makes a sales team tick. We are searching for a strong team leader who can make things happen and provide and promote the highest level of customer service and integrity.
